Cross Pendant
with Ear Wax Scoop

This very old cross pendant was probably once part of a rosary. Attached to the base of the cross is a scoop used to clean wax from ears.

Though this may seem odd, rosaries were once used the way we use keychains today. Folks carried their rosaries with them all the time, so it made sense to attach personal items they used on a regular basis.

Trench Art Crucifix

From World War I, this crucifix is made from brass shell casings. Doughboy soldiers fabricated numerous secular and religious items from battlefield materials.
